I do know the horse that you’re speaking of and that her horse is currently back where we bought it from in Jacksonville at Trail center there, we returned it immediately because it’s demeanor did not meet our standards. Very few horses make it to that point so it is very rare that we have one that makes it all the way to the point of physically going to Jekyll that then cannot be used. occasionally it’s only when the guides ride them out the first time that we see that they will not work for our program, at that time they are immediately removed. When we purchase horses we thoroughly screen them in every circumstance available to make sure that they are ready to go to Trail, and then we have our guides ride them out, many, many times before they are rented. The speed and efficiency in which they got everyone mounted and on their way was incredible and actually had us out ahead of schedule.I’m sorry to hear of your experience, unfortunately the only way to know if a horse will work for us is to actually use it. We took some out-of-town friends over last week and it was our first visit since all of the facility upgrades – very impressive! Due to a very large number of riders that evening (it was an amazing sunset ride) and it being high tide, the guides took us out in two groups. The horses are always a joy and it is fun to watch and see their individual personalities emerge. Put Golden Isles Carriage and Trail at Three Oaks Farm on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Jekyll Island online trip maker. We are always impressed with our guides ability to match horse to rider as we have taken friends with years of experience and those who have never ridden at all. Golden Isles Carriage and Trail at Three Oaks Farm is located in Jekyll Island. From the initial ride through the wooded path and along the marsh and tidal creeks to the beach ride that takes us down to driftwood beach, the beautiful scenery is somehow made even more beautiful when viewed from the back of a horse. It is a unique experience that creates truly lasting memories. We frequently make the drive over to Jekyll to enjoy the horseback rides on the beach – especially when we have friends visiting from out of town.
